Terminal Block: Reliable Connection, Achieving Excellence

Although small, terminal blocks are truly "key nodes" in lighting distribution systems. If circuit breakers are the "guardians" of the circuit, then terminal blocks are the "connectors" of the blood vessels - reliable connections are essential for excellence.

Inside the lighting distribution box, the collection and branching of all circuits are accomplished through terminal blocks. The reliability of the terminals directly determines the stability of the entire system. A loose connection point may generate heat due to excessive contact resistance, which, over long-term operation, not only accelerates insulation aging but also has the potential to cause burnout or even fire accidents. Conversely, tightly crimped and well-contacted terminals can ensure unimpeded current flow, safely and efficiently delivering electrical energy to every terminal lighting fixture.

High-quality terminal blocks should possess the following characteristics:
- Sufficient clamping force: Made of high-quality copper or copper alloy, combined with an anti-slip design, ensuring that the wire remains secure and does not come loose or fall out after insertion;
- Excellent conductivity: Surface treatment with tin plating or nickel plating reduces contact resistance and prevents oxidation and corrosion;
- Clear identification: The neutral terminal strip and ground terminal strip are clearly partitioned, facilitating standardized wiring and subsequent maintenance.

In the assembly of distribution boxes, the selection and installation of wiring terminals must also consider the compatibility with the conductor cross-section. For instance, when connecting a 1.5mm² conductor to a 10A circuit or a 2.5mm² conductor to a 16A circuit, the terminal hole diameter must correspond to the conductor diameter, and the crimping screw should be tightened to the specified torque - too loose can lead to heating, while too tight may damage the conductor.

"Excellence" is not achieved overnight, but rather through precise control over every detail. From the torque of a single screw to the stripping length of a wire, and to the reasonable layout of terminal blocks, these seemingly small aspects ultimately converge to form the cornerstone of safe operation of a distribution box. Only with reliable connections can the front-end circuit breaker selection and wire diameter matching play their due role, resulting in a lighting distribution system that truly stands the test of time.
